Healthcare Support Worker
About us
We are a family-run company, operating various residential children’s homes in West Midlands. Our aim is to create a safe, happy, healing, family environment for children and young people, who are unable to live with their families and may have experienced various trauma.
We are looking for a team of caring adults who can be understanding and compassionate for the children and young people we are caring for, as well as the resilience and strength that it takes to manage the behaviours that can come from experiencing trauma and having learning difficulties.
The role
To be a Healthcare Support Worker, there are some skills and characteristics you must have – otherwise this is not the career for you. These include: compassion, empathy, resilience, hard-working, genuine want to help people, team player, good initiative, able to dynamically risk assess, goals to learn and develop within the industry.
The role of a Healthcare Support Worker is to support the children in every aspect of their lives, including ensuring the environment is clean and safe. You will be required to support the children in: getting up and ready for school, transporting them to and from school, cooking meals, attending health appointments, taking part in activities, going to family time, learning independence skills. Other responsibilities include: daily paperwork to monitor the children or young people’s progress, cleaning the home, health and safety checks, attending meetings and care planning for them, as well as working with the entire team to ensure the children and young people are effectively safeguarded.
We are acting-parents for these children and young people, and our most important role is to be the stable, emotional support for them – for them to have adults that they can trust to act in their best interest and understand them.
